Auxiliary Biographies

Andrea Baker, Secretary
My name is Andrea Baker, and I am honored to serve as Secretary of the Ethel Lansdale Auxiliary to VFW Post 67. I joined the Auxiliary in 2025 as a heartfelt tribute to my father, Steven Gomez, who served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Although I never had the chance to meet my father, as he passed away before I was born, I am grateful to be able to honor his legacy and service through my involvement with the Auxiliary.
Being one of his two daughters, I feel a deep responsibility and privilege in carrying forward his memory. I am excited for the opportunity to grow in my role by helping organize future community events and offering my support and service to U.S. Veterans and their families. It is truly a blessing to contribute to such a meaningful cause. Thank you for welcoming me into this community. I look forward to connecting with you all and working together to make a positive impact.

Teresa Montijo, Treasurer
Treasurer Since 2025. I have been a lifetime member of VFW Post 67 Auxiliary since 2017. Prior to serving as Treasurer, I was an Auxiliary Trustee for three years. I joined the Auxiliary on behalf of my veteran husband, David J. Montijo, US Navy, Vietnam. In addition, my paternal uncle, Paul Peck, US Navy WWII, became a member of VFW Post 67 in 1943. I am also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution through my paternal lineage.

Carlitta Cole-Kelly, Jr.-Vice President
Carlitta Cole-Kelly spent eight years as a military wife, stationed in the North Pacific, Midwest and California. Her grandfather was a WWI veteran who served in the Meuse Argonne Offensive, France 1917, the same year Post 67 was established. He died at age 102. Four Uncles were WWII Veterans. Her son was a Naval Officer during Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is a retired RN and welcomes the opportunity to be of service to our Veterans and their families.

Sharon Tool, Chaplain
As the daughter of a Marine who fought in WWII in the Pacific, the wife of an Army officer who fought in Vietnam, and the mother of a marine who fought in the Gulf War, veterans’ issues have been relevant. Before moving to Sacramento, I had never had any affiliation with a VFW Auxiliary. But the first women to welcome me to Sacramento were members of Auxiliary #67. These friends continue to be the ONLY people I know who can acknowledge one degree or another of the Post Traumatic Stress experienced by combat veterans. Maybe that acknowledgement allows us to support and serve veterans and their families with greater tolerance for otherwise “questionable” behaviors.

Randy Baker, Conductor
I’m Randy Baker, and I joined the VFW Auxiliary Post 67 in October 2025. My father served two tours in Vietnam during his 22 years in the Air Force and over 20 years in civil service at McClellan AFB. I cherish our trips and the time we spent at the Commissary, BX, Airplane museum, and even air shows. I always felt incredibly proud of everything he accomplished during his time in the service. I recently became the conductor and am eager to do my best while honoring my memories of him.

Gloria Tarin Gamino, 1 Year Trustee
I was employed at UCD Medical Center for 36 years and when I retired, I joined the VFW Post 67 Auxiliary in 2008 after my husband, Gilbert, became a member of the Post. We both helped all the members in all areas of the Post that needed volunteers. We helped put together 5 to 6 fundraisers for several years. We helped run the Post kitchen, serving breakfast on Sundays and lunch on Wednesdays for several years.
I became Auxiliary President in 2014 and continued the position through 2015 and 2016. We had a wonderful group of members. We supported the Post Veterans wherever we could. I loved being able to support all our Veterans and will continue being part of our wonderful Auxiliary as long as I can.

Yolanda Sturgill, Sr.-Vice President
My name is Yolanda Sturgill. I joined the Auxiliary because I had my brother, Joe Loza, who is a Vietnam veteran. My first husband, Robert Jaime, Sr., was a Vietnam veteran and my brother Peter Loza was in Korea, and he retired from the Army after 25 years. I enjoy being in the Auxiliary and seeing how we can help our fellow veterans.

Kathy Sublett, President
My name is Kathy Sublett. I joined the Auxiliary in 2001 under the eligibility of my maternal grandfather Cecil Gonzales, who served in North Africa with the Army during WWII. My paternal grandfather Dean Simpson, also with the Army, served in Great Britain during WWII. I joined to honor them and their service and to support all US Veterans. As President, my goal is to make sure my fellow members are knowledgeable on our Auxiliary traditions and are prepared to take on leadership roles.
