We have spent a large amount of money developing our military library.
We have more than 2,000 books, 10 military related magazine subscriptions, lots of DVD’s/video tapes/cassettes, and interesting historic military paraphernalia.
We are preparing lists of our Post 67 members organized by the wars in which they served beginning with the Spanish-American War. We hope to be able to find the grave sites of those buried in the Sacramento area so as to be able to visit them on the relevant memorial days.
There are currently no regular hours for the library to be open, and, for some, it is difficult to visit because we do not have an elevator for the elderly or handicapped would-be visitors. We have opened an account to accept donations for an elevator. When an elevator is in place, we hope to set some specific hours for library access.
For those who would like to visit or contribute to the library, Sundays are a good time since that is when we have our 9-12 AM brunches. For other information and possible visiting, you can call the librarian at 323-400-8838 to set a time.
