The VFW provides an understanding circle of friends for both vets and family members. This is especially important for vets and spouses after the loss of their partners. Because of the nature of the activities of VFW Posts, involvement provides opportunities to enjoy many social events together and chances to work for causes and on projects that are of interest and/or call for specific skills, talents of individuals, couples and entire families.

For example, the Post 67 weekly Community Sunday Brunches ($9) from 8:30 to 12:30 every week attract folks from single vets, to entire 4-generational families!  The same is true of the Wednesday Potluck Lunches (Free if a dish is brought, otherwise just $5 ) from 12 noon to 2 PM. Guests of members are also welcome.  There are also last-Friday-of-the-month birthday parties, Friday Karaoke and other such events on specific holidays, and much more.

The canteen serves the usual beverages but non-alcoholic drinks, soda and coffee are available and two large screen TV’s show the usual programs and there is a continuous Armed Forces TV feed on important military subjects.  We also have a large pool table, dartboard and a shuffleboard table for relaxed, friendly competition.

There are also Community service opportunities for vets and for the community in general:  Color-Guard teams for vet funerals, fix-up/clean-up projects for disabled vets and families, volunteering in our Military Research Center/Library/Archives, or even helping us as servers and dishwashers for our Community Sunday Brunch. Helping out any of our community organizations that we sponsor.
